Dr.-Ing. Marina Sokcic-Kostic
„Even the best waste-stream-tracking-system cannot replace nuclear measurements.“
Ms. Sokcic-Kostic studied Technical Physics at the University of Belgrade (Serbia) from 1977 to 1982. After receiving her diploma with the focus on nuclear engineering, she extended her academic studies with a master in the field of nuclear energetic (1982-1990).
Ms. Sokcic-Kostic received a Ph.D. from the RWTH Aachen University for her thesis on Safety Aspects for the High-Temperature Reactor. Afterwards she worked as a research assistant at the Research Centre Jülich (Institute for Safety Research and Reactor Safety) and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Institute of Nuclear Safety) in the fields of neutron and gamma monitoring and waste characterization. In 2001 she started to work for the Nukem Technologies GmbH.
Ms. Socic-Kostic is group leader (Principal Engineer) in the field of Nuclear Measurement Technology and lead engineer for all international projects on the Waste Treatment Centers of Nukem Technologies.
