Dr.-Ing. Olaf Neubauer
„In order to illustrate complex scientific relations a thorough preparation of the lecture is inevitable.“
Mr. Neubauer studied electrical engineering at the Technical University of Dresden and made his doctorate in the field of current transformers. After several years in the field of design and construction of power transformers he moved to the Research Center Jülich in 1994. There he was director of today’s Institute of Energy and Climate Research – Plasma Physics (IEK-4) for projects in the field of electrical engineering.
Today he is head of the Department for Fusion Technology of the IEK-4. In this position he is responsible for the operation of the fusion experiment TEXTOR and for various projects including the further development of fusion experiments, such as Wendelstein 7-X in Greifswald and ITER in southern France.
