Dr. rer. nat. Stefan Thierfeldt
„A well-planned decommissioning and dismantling demands continuous and optimized release of the waste streams.“
Mr. Thierfeldt studied physics at the University of Cologne and completed his diploma thesis in the field of metal physics in 1988. He received his Ph.D. in 1991 in the field of solid state physics at the Forschungszentrum Jülich.
Since 1991 he is working in at Brenk Systemplanung GmbH. The focus of his work was on disposal issues of nuclear plants during decommissioning and dismantling , in particular the release of radioactive materials and the definition of clearance values as well as the technical and administrative management of decommissioning projects.
Since 2006 he is head of the division "Radiation Protection, Nuclear Engineering and Decommissioning". He now works mainly in the field of material management from decommissioning and dismantling, safety analyzes for facilities during shutdown and the implementation of licensing procedures.
