The subject of the training is a basic understanding of the CASTOR® V cask design. In addition, the basic steps for handling a CASTOR® V are demonstrated. The content of the training course is designed to provide engineers and managers who are on call during the handling and clearance of CASTOR® V/19 casks in the NPP with a comprehensive understanding.

- Explanation of the structure of the container with its safety components.
- Introduction to the instructions for use and maintenance of the container
- Presentation of the various handling phases according to the container-specific schedule for container handling in the power plant.
- Presentation of the test and work equipment used in the multi-equipment.
- Presentation of safety-critical handling steps for permanent compliance with the safety objectives during handling in the power plant (cooling of the fuel elements, containment of the radioactive substances in the cask, ensuring subcriticality and limiting radiation exposure during handling).
- Presentation of the safety report “Handling of CASTOR® V/19” and corresponding instructions in the event of delayed cask handling.
The main points of the program will be clarified in detail bilaterally between the client and the contractor.
